Remembering 1969
Remembering 1969

1969 was a year of change.

For some it was the end of the road, Cream’s final album and the last concert for the original lineup of the Jimi Hendrix Experience…

Other people were finding fame, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, The Allman Brothers…

There were new music genres, heavy metal, British folk rock, jazz-rock fusion…

And, of course, the most famous festival of them all – Woodstock.

But, the year ended on a sour note with the ill-fated Altamont festival. Often referred to as the spiritual end of the 1960s.
