Beatles Before Ringo podcast

John Lennon met Paul McCartney for the first time on 6 July 1957. George joined about six months later.

They slogged away for the next five years before finally finding commercial success with their first UK single, Love Me Do, in October 1962.

Along the way they:
Made their first recording as the Quarry Men in July 1958,.
Failed an audition to back Billy Fury.
Featured as the Beat Brothers when their first single was released in Germany.
Brian Epstein was their manager but things could have turned out so differently – they were very nearly managed by Sam Leach.
The Beatles recorded three versions of their first single, Love Me Do – with three different drummers, Pete Best, Ringo Starr and Andy White.
