Radio Shows and Guest Appearances

Derek Shelmerdine’s radio appearances started in June 2016, when he was invited onto radio shows to promote his newly published book Rock’n’Roll Unravelled.
Since then he has made numerous guest appearances.
For two years Derek had his own show, The Rock’n’Roll Unravelled Show on the Liverpool based radio station Access Nort West. Sadly, the covid pandemic resulted in the station closing down. Since then Derek has made regular radio and live-Facebook guest appearances.

The Rock’n’Roll Unravelled Shows and guest appearances are all about rock’n’roll from its roots to mid-1970s punk.
The stories of artists, bands, record labels, music genres, producers, managers, venues, roots +++
If its relevant to the music of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s – I’ll be talking about it!

Hosted by Steve Chelmsford, the show is dedicated to The Beatles and Elvis Presley. Derek Shelmerdine has a fortnightly guest spot, alternating The Beatles Unravelled and Elvis Presley Unravelled.
Steve is based in Cheltenham, Massachusetts. The show is syndicated to 100 radio stations across the globe.

Derek Shelmerdine‘s own radio show, The Rock’n’Roll Unravelled Show was originally broadcast on Access North West but sadly, the station ceased broadcasting on 30 June 2021. Those 39 episodes can all be heard again on Mixcloud, complete with all the music played on the show.
