Tickle Me was Elvis’s 18th outing as a Hollywood star. Money was tight at the studio so in order to cut costs, the movie soundtrack used songs from some of Elvis’s old albums.

The soundtrack recycled songs from three of his previous studio albums, Pot Luck with Elvis, Elvis is Back! and Something For Everybody. Two tracks were lifted from the bonus tracks on two of his old movie soundtrack albums, Kissin’ Cousins and Fun in Acapulco.

The soundtrack for Tickle Me didn’t even warrant release on an album. Instead, it appeared as two EPs in the UK and an EP and two singles in America.
