The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and Karl Terry and the Cruisers combined for a one-off performance at Liverpool’s Litherland Town Hall on 19 October 1961. That night the audience witnessed the only performance given by – The Beatmakers.

The Beatmakers for one night only
On 19 October 1961, The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers and Karl Terry & the Cruisers joined forces for a one-time-only performance at a gig at Liverpool’s Litherland Town Hall – Liverpool’s first supergroup.
The Beatmakers were, guitarists – George, Paul and Gerry Marsden who also provided vocals. John Lennon with more vocals and piano. Pete Best and Pacemakers’ Freddy Marsden – shared the drums. Also from Pacemakers, Les McGuire on saxophone and Les Chadwick, bass. Plus Karl Terry with more vocals.
Gerry and the Pacemakers was one of the most successful of the British Invasion groups, with seven Billboard Top 40 hits between 1964 and 1966. In the UK they were the first act to have their first three singles enter charts at #1.
Karl Terry and the Cruisers were very popular in Liverpool but, sadly, never managed to achieve a wider commercial success. They are still out and about playing gigs.
