Hello… Im an artist and a member of the Penny Lane Development Trust which is a registered charity in Liverpool. I am solidly in the camp that says the Col launched him into superstardom. Without him Elvis would not have had the meteoric rise he had. However, there was a point where the Col and Elvis should probably have parted company- probably around 1970, ‘71. Elvis wanted to do things as an artist that the the Col saw no monetary value in, and he didn’t recognize there was value In anything that wasn’t monetary .
So maybe the Col was both? Hero AND villain?

Wow. This was nicely laid out – kudos!
As noted here this isn’t even a complete collection of clues… there are quite a few more on official releases alone, but if you expand that to hints or references dropped in interviews etc, it becomes an unwieldy list.
However despite being incomplete it’s a brilliant intro and overview. I think you lay out the case pretty nicely, and furthermore I pretty much agree with your conclusion, after studying this subject for a number of years.
(Though I suppose I may be a tad biased, since I already agreed with your conclusion lol)
I think it’s part inside joke / great mystery / Easter egg hunt, and ultimately adds a dimension to their later catalogue that’s more layered and nuanced than just about anything else in the Western Tradition of Art. Especially in the modern era.
To rival some of the greats…
On that note it occurred to me just tonight (which is how I happened to find your blog post, upon searching) was that the name “Billy Shears” is awfully reminiscent of “Billy Shakespeare.”
Shakespeare also made some pretty clever and nuanced art, layered with esoteric notions and imagery.
And there are “false identity” conspiracy theories involving Shakespeare as well – another interesting connection.
A lot of people believe “Will Shakespeare” was actually a pseudonym for Sir Francis Bacon.
(Bacon, who was also a freemason, and absolutely into esoteric lore, and dropping such lore into artistic works, where the initiated might notice, and the others likely wouldn’t…)
And upon googling a bit… it seems the Beatles did in fact directly reference good ol Bill Sh(akesp)ears repeatedly, in lyrical references, interviews, and even direct performance, as noted above!
… though he is notably absent from the Sgt Pepper cover, which is the only thing currently making me question the validity of the connection… 🤔
Anyway, maybe I’ll come back with a couple more points later, if I find the time lol…
But I did want to say I loved the write up!
Oh, and if you haven’t already seen “The Winged Beatle” by “iamaphoney” you should go check that out ASAP.
Normal version is close to an hour and found on YouTube last I checked. Extended is closer to 1:30 and still on Vimeo, last I looked.
But it’s probably the best compendium of clues in video form… though warning it is a tad dark and very trippy, and freaks some people out lol.
