Norman “Hurricane” Smith
…..Beatles engineer, Pink Floyd producer and hit singer
Norman Smith worked as the engineer with George Martin on all the Beatles’ records from the beginning until the album Rubber Soul.
He moved on and became a producer, producing most of the Pink Floyd’s 1960s singles and albums. As well as Pink Floyd, Smith also produced the Pretty Things classic album, SF Sorrow.
Not content with such prestigious work as an engineer and producer, he scored a number of hits as singer Hurricane Smith. In 1972 he made Top-10 on both sides of the Atlantic with Oh Babe What Would You Say?
