Was Jimi Hendrix Murdered?

Jimi Hendrix died on 18 September 1970 and joined the 27 Club. He wrote his final song, The Story of Life, in the hours before he died.
The details of Jimi’s death vary from witness to witness, prompting the question – was Jimi Hendrix murdered?

Eric Burdon originally thought that Jimi had committed suicide. Some accounts put the death early in the morning. If this is the case, why did the ambulance take five hours to arrive?

Jimi told several people that he was planning to ditch his manager, Mike Jefferey. Did this provide a motive for murder? Jimi’s roadie Tappy Wright thinks so…

Jimi was also on the FBI’s radar. The FBI’s Counter Intelligence Program had a dossier on Jimi. He had associations with the Black Panthers. Some commentators suggest that he was water-boarded before he died.

We’ll probably never know the truth. This is one of the great rock’n’roll legends. The British police reopened the case in the early 1990s. Maybe, the truth will emerge one day but until then, the speculation continues…
