Five Legendary British Producers
Joe Meek, George Martin, Mickie Most, Glyn Johns and Tony Visconti all played a big part in shaping the music of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s.
Joe Meek was one of the first independent producers.
George Martin was responsible for much of the unique sound of the Beatles.
Mickie Most was an instinctive hit-maker
Glyn Johns worked with some of rock’s greatest bands. He also devised an effective way to mic up a drum kit – the “Glyn Johns method.”
Tony Visconti is an honorary Brit for this occasion. This is because he brought the quintessentially British artists Marc Bolan and David Bowie to international fame
