The Stiff Records Story Listen again
It all began with a £400 loan for the founders Jake Riviera and Dave Robinson. The story charts the label’s rise and fall, including the parting of the ways for the founders, the unhappy link with Island Records and the three legendary live tours. It had its ups and downs but Stiff was one of the pioneering independent record labels which helped to shape the music of the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s.
The story is punctuated by a plethora of Stiff classics, with tracks from: The Damned, Elvis Costello, Binkey Baker and the Pit Orchestra, Richard Hell and lots more…
